Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This policy explains how QRaken handles information when you use the app, visit qraken.app or contact us. For privacy questions, email info@qraken.app.

Your QR codes stay on your device.

No QRaken server. Core features work offline. No automatic upload of your QR content.

QRaken creates and scans QR codes, customises designs and keeps your saved history on your device. These core features do not need an internet connection. QRaken does not send your QR content, selected images or saved designs to us.

Data leaves your device only when a feature you choose requires it—for example, sharing an export, opening a website, using online maps or address search, or emailing support. Device backups and platform services are managed separately by your device settings and provider.

QR codes and saved designs

QRaken creates and scans QR codes on your device. Content you enter or scan may include links, contact details, event information, locations, Wi-Fi credentials and other text. We do not upload this content to a QRaken server. Saved designs and their content are stored locally on your device. Images you select for logos or image fills may be copied into the app’s local storage so saved designs remain available.

Optional permissions

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Denying a permission may prevent the corresponding optional feature from working.

Exports, sharing and external links

When you export a PNG, SVG or PDF, QRaken creates a file on your device. You decide where to save or share it using the available system controls. The apps and services you choose then handle that information under their own policies.

A QR code contains the information encoded in it. Anyone who receives the code may be able to read that information. Opening a scanned link, launching a map or another app, or sharing a file can send information to the destination you choose. QRaken does not control those destinations.

Accounts, advertising and purchases

QRaken does not require a QRaken account and does not include advertising, behavioural tracking or a third-party analytics SDK. We do not sell your personal information. App Store payments are handled by Apple; QRaken does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may process purchase and diagnostic information under its own privacy settings and policies.

Website and support

The QRaken website does not use advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Hosting and network providers may process technical request information, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps, to deliver and protect the website.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use these to respond to your request and resolve support issues. Our email provider processes these messages to deliver the service. Avoid sending passwords, sensitive QR content or other information that is not needed for support.

Retention and deletion

Saved designs remain on your device until you remove them from History or remove the app’s data. Removing a design from History may not remove every associated image or cached export. Uninstalling the app normally removes its local app data; exports saved elsewhere and device or cloud backups are controlled separately by you and your platform provider.

Support correspondence is retained only as needed to respond, resolve ongoing issues and meet applicable obligations. You can contact us to request access to or deletion of information you have sent us. We cannot retrieve or delete QR content that exists only on your device.

Security and your choices

We minimise information sent to us. Protect your device and consider what information you include in a QR code or share with others. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, or raise a concern with a privacy regulator. Contact info@qraken.app to make a request.

Children

QRaken does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or advertising system. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or our practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated as required.
